Summer has gone by so fast

It seems as though the summer is going by so fast. With all this rain we have had it has made it for an interesting time.

I have had the oppertunity to enjoy kayaking and handcycling inbetween the rain drops. I have been keeping up with my work out at the gym with my trainer. Today I took a nice little couple mile ride and really enjoyed being outside before it rained.

Monday July 27th through Thursday July 30th. I am heading to Lake Placid, New York to the Olympic Training Center for Indoor Dryland Training. Im really looking forward to seeing some of my friends from the Winter and also getting to focus on working out more.

I will try and take some pictures while I am there and share with everyone.

More Pictures from Nationals

Nationals

Trip out to Nationals was such a great experience this was for me to be able to go an participate in. I had a really great time and it was fantastic to be able to participate in both Slalom and Giant Slalom races at Winter Park. Saturday we had our Slalom race and on Sunday we had our Giant Slalom. I trained a few days prior to the competitions. I can't wait to go back out next season.

Spring Race Camp Training

Such a wonderful last three days. I was at Sunday River, Maine participating in a spring racing camp. The first day we did Giant Slalom in the morning and a small Super G course in the afternoon. The next day we did a longer Super G course with the option of starting lower and working our way up, and then in the afternoon we did more Gian Slalom training. Today we worked in the morning on some slalom training.

I had such a great time, and really saw some improvement in my self while being there. Im really excited and have more excitement about going out to nationals in a week.

Sunday, March 8, 2009

After a fantastic and also a very thrilling weekend I have really gotten very excited for my up coming events and travels. I competed in a Level 1 race held in Vermont on Saturday and had some really good times. I was able to see some pictures that friends and family took of the race and I could see an improvement on my ability to be early set up for the gate and also the ability to finish my turn just below the gate so that I could be prepared for the next gate.

I hope to participating in a two day camp at Sunday River in Maine on the 18Th and 19Th. The hopes for this camp is to work on more techniques for race courses in both Giant Slalom and Slalom Races.

A couple days after the camp I will then be traveling to Winter Park Colorado for the Disabled Nationals. I am very excited about going back out to Winter Park Colorado and competing again this season. I will be competing against some of the same racers that I competed with back in December when I was out racing at both Copper Mountain for Ski Spectacular and also at Winter Park for the Winter Park Open.

Well its February and the snow is still falling like crazy. We just had another major storm last night and all day today. The league races that i have been participating in have been going pretty well. On the weekends I have been taking a few training runs in the Nastar race with my times staying pretty consistent. With March quickly approaching I have a few races that I am getting ready for here at Waterville and at Sunday River. Knowing that the end of the season is soon to come i have been thinking about what will my next season bring. Where do I want to really be with my racing career? I am also trying to come up with a good plan of how I'm going to get to where I really want to be with my personal fitness training, gate training and any other pieces that need to be worked on to help me get to that point in my racing career. I know that my dream of racing on the U.S. Parlympic team is stronger than ever and I am determined to achieve that dream. I am really looking forward to pushing my self even further with the help of my coaches.

Next season I really would like to train full time with other athletes and coaches. I really would like to raise more money so that I can participate in more NorAM and Level 2 races.

January Update

Back in New Hampshire, I have had a very busy and cold January. I have been training several times a week. I have been doing a couple level 1 races for some gate experience. My times in the races are pretty consistant between races. I have also been racing at Waterville Valley once a week in there League Race with other Adults. Even though its been a very busy month I have had a few hard times but have been pushing my way through it and keep reminding my self of where I really want to be. Im looking forward to the next couple of weeks of my League Races and also my trainings. I hope to have some new pictures up very soon. It was so nice to see the sun yesterday and have a little warmer weather while racing.
